These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and KidGist ("we", "us", "our") covering your use of the KidGist website, web app, and mobile apps (the "Service"). Please read them in plain language below. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Who can use KidGist
KidGist is for parents and guardians. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, and you confirm that you are. The Service is not directed to children, and children may not create or use an account. You are responsible for anything done through your account, so keep your password secure and let us know at contactkidgist@gmail.com if you think it has been used without your permission.
What KidGist does
KidGist helps you manage school and activity emails. When you forward an email (or upload a document) to your KidGist address, we use AI to read it, extract dates and action items, and create calendar events and reminders for you. You choose what to send us — we do not connect to your email inbox.
Information about your children
You may add limited information about your children (such as a first name and grade) to organize your family. By doing so, you confirm you are the parent or guardian and are entitled to provide that information. Please add only what you need. You can view, edit, or delete this information at any time in the app.
Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
- Only forward emails and documents you have the right to share with us.
- Do not use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful, or abusive, and do not try to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to it.
- If you share your account with family members, you are responsible for their use of it.
AI-generated content
KidGist uses AI to read emails and extract dates, events, and action items. AI is not perfect and can make mistakes — it may miss an event, get a date wrong, or misread a message. KidGist is a helper, not a replacement for reading important communications yourself. Always check important dates against the original email or the school. You are responsible for verifying anything you rely on.
Plans and payment
KidGist offers a free tier and a paid subscription (KidGist Plus) with additional features such as SMS reminders. Prices and features are shown in the app and may change over time; we will tell you about material changes in advance. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until canceled, and you can cancel at any time. Unless required by law, payments already made are non-refundable. Payments are handled by our payment provider, not stored by us.
Third-party services
KidGist relies on and connects to third-party services (for example Google Gemini for AI analysis, Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook if you connect them, and email/SMS/notification providers). Your use of those connected services is also subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them. The processors we use are listed in our Privacy Policy.
Text message reminders
Text message reminders are optional and off unless you turn them on yourself in Settings. We send only event reminders and weekly summaries — never marketing. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply from your carrier. Reply STOP to any message to stop them, or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of using KidGist. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your content
You keep ownership of the emails, documents, and information you put into KidGist. You grant us only the permission we need to run the Service for you — to store your content, process it with AI, and create events and reminders. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Canceling and deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Family → "Delete your account". This permanently removes your account and associated data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms or is used unlawfully; where reasonable we will tell you why.
Service availability
We work hard to keep KidGist running reliably, but we provide the Service "as is" and cannot promise it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, KidGist is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for missed events, reminders, or dates arising from the Service or from AI errors. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law, and we do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in the app. Continuing to use KidGist after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. The date at the top of this page shows the most recent update.
